Public Open House on August 3

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, the City and Olympia School District will be hosting a public open house for the Yelm Highway Community Park site. Staff and consultants from the City and School District will be available to provide an overview of the proposed master plan and answer questions. The meeting will be a drop-in open house style, with a brief overview presentation at 6 p.m. Staff and the design teams will be available to answer questions and discuss the projects.

If you cannot make the in-person open house, you will be able to view the recorded presentation on August 4 on this page.

A short survey will be available here from August 4 to 22.

History of the project

In 2018, the City of Olympia purchased the property at 3323 Yelm Highway for a future community park.

We are developing a design concept to guide future park development in a phased approach. The master plan will incorporate active and passive recreational amenities, preservation and protection of critical areas, and integration of public art into the design.
