Phase I: Project Initiation (completed)

Phase II : Review of Prior Self-Evaluation and ADA Compliance Efforts 

Summer/Fall 2019

  • Review prior work efforts and complete PROW Assessment of curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways as well as Accessible Pedestrian Signal policy and inventory
  • Review 2017 Parks and Trails ADA Assessment
  • Assess city-owned facilities for physical barriers
  • Assess City policies, procedures and programming for communication and access barriers            

Phase III: Public Engagement, Cost Estimates, & GIS Data Visualization

Fall 2019

  • Begin broad Public Engagement process to further identify and prioritize physical and communicative barriers for removal
  • Continue assessing City policies, procedures, and programming for communication and access barriers
  • Utilize GIS resources to visualize collected data and further refine prioritization criteria for removing physical barriers
  • Estimate barrier removal costs

Winter 2020

  • Partner with ADA Community representatives to shape and refine future Phase activities
  • Hold Public Outreach Workshops to identify and locate additional barriers to accessibility in the PROW and City-run programs

Phase IV: Barrier Prioritization and Cost Estimate Refinements for DRAFT Transition Plan

Winter 2020

  • Refine barrier removal costs
  • Develop 6-year, 20-year and long-range barrier removal implementation schedule

Spring 2020

  • Prepare Draft ADA Transition Plan for City Council and Public Comment
  • Submit FINAL ADA Transition Plan for approval
